83 Icons is a song based solo project from Martin Ingram, a multi-instrumentalist who is also a member of Strange Alchemy, The Unnatural Science Orchestra and Bad Juju.
83 Icons is best described as living at the intersection between art pop, post rock and modern progressive music. Influences include Steven Wilson, David Sylvian, Talk Talk, The Blue Nile, James and the quieter moments from artists such as David Bowie and King Crimson.
The songs released under the 83 Icons banner were primarily written to be performed live with voice, guitar and looper accompaniment, but the recorded versions are in many cases more like full band arrangements.
